One day workshop for Parents : Bangalore

We are glad to see your interest in this one day workshop for parents. This note provides you the basic information about the event.

Partcipants
We intend this programme to primarily focus on parents and would-be-parents who are already seeking alternatives towards a life-based education for their children. This is important since the children’s future is of immediate concern to them. While giving priority to the couples and young parents, we do not want to exclude those who are looking to learn more about Sarang and it’s way of learning. We would like to request them to participate as observers.  We will split the parents and observers into two groups and these  two groups will have some divergent activities so as to enable them to make maximum use of the day.

Introduction to Sarang’s education
Society is a mechanism built by different elements. Education should enable a person to take up any necessary role in that mechanism with responsibility and dignity. We will explore,  as parents how we can initiate that process in our children.

Experience sharing by Gautham Sarang as the first student of Sarang
Gautham, the frst and life long student of Sarang has no formal schooling.  His life-educaton enabled him to work on mud houses with the same ease with which he codes web sites and takes care of new born babies.

Experience sharing as parents who follow the Sarang way of educaton
Anuradha and Gautham bring up their children in the Sarang way. However it is diferent from what Gautham went through as the times necessitate.  Life evolves according to changing times.  When education is practicing life, it also has to evolve.

Brief about the one year training for parents
For the last one year we have been training a group of families in Kerala. The details of the same will help you to get an idea about what we can do together for our children.

Interaction and discussion
We decided to set aside one whole day since we want to have enough time to understand each other and  clear as many doubts as possible.   Please make sure that you are at the venue by 9.00 for the proceedings. The workshop starts at 9.30 AM and goes till 4 PM.

Other details
Come with your partner and children.
A notebook and pen will be useful.

There will be outdoor space for children to play.
Volunteers will keep the children engaged during the indoor sessions for parents.
Two refreshments and lunch will be provided.
While bringing eatables for kids, kindly avoid packaged food and bring fruits or home made snacks.  Let us respect the eforts taken by those parent partcipants who keep their kids away from the artfcial food as much as they can.
There is a fee for the event and it is to meet the actual costs of the event.
For a family it is INR 2000 and Individual it is INR 1000
